Troy Deden Benefit Game and Home Run Hitting Contest
The Northfield Knights and the Dundas Dukes wish to invite
everyone to a fun filled evening of baseball Saturday night in Dundas.
The Knights and Dukes will square off in a seven inning exhibition game
on Saturday, May 17 to benefit Northfield native
and current Northfield
Knight player Troy Deden. Admission
proceeds (donations), a silent auction, a home run hitting contest prior to the
game and concession proceeds will go to help Troy with his expenses incurred during his
recent battle with cancer.
Late in 2007, Troy
became ill and was diagnosed with leukemia.
Having minimal health insurance, Troy
is now saddled with costly medical expenses associated with the lengthy
treatment process that goes along with cancer.
A Northfield native, Troy played varsity baseball for the
Raiders. After high school, Troy continued his baseball career at Saint Mary’s and
then Augsburg College.
Troy has
also played for the Northfield Knights Amateur Baseball team since his senior
year in high school.
The event on Saturday, May 17, begins at 6:00 p.m. with a
home run hitting contest open to anyone.
Participants will pay $1 per swing with top hitters winning Minnesota
Twins and Minnesota Wild tickets. A
silent auction with a variety of items, including an autographed Adrian
Peterson Minnesota Vikings jersey, will be held during the game. Admission (donations) will be collected
during the game. For more information on
the event, please visit the Knights website at www.northfieldknights.com.
If you are unable to attend the event but wish to send a
donation, checks can be made out to the Northfield Knights and sent to:
